The Porcine Pardon: Pig Named Six Seven Spared by Miami-Dade Leader.

It might not have been at the same level as pardoning holiday birds, but the mayor of Miami-Dade had her own ceremonial pardon event this week by formally pardoning the life of a swine named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava executed the holiday gesture at the Cuban-themed Latin Cafe 2000 in the heart of Miami’s iconic Little Havana neighborhood.

“This pig is innocent. Clemency is justified for her. No offenses are on her docket,” declared Levine Cava in a speech with inescapable allusions to the sheer volume of pardons issued since the commencement of a new presidential term.

“If we disregard eating half a dozen apples per day,” the mayor added. “Let this swine have a lengthy and joyful existence away from worry.”

The event, either celebrating or rejecting the region’s Hispanic tradition of feasting on pork during the holidays, was founded to emulate the traditional fowl clemency at the White House.

The animal, donated by a local firefighter, was given its name from the modern linguistic fad of young people shouting “6-7” – originating from a hip-hop line – often for no discernable reason. The craze became so widespread that a leading lexicon site recently named “six-seven” its 2025 word of the year.

A Peaceful Retirement

This particular pig is now scheduled to spend its days at a countryside refuge “far from charcoal and roasting pans”, according to the event’s official press release.

“The pig pardon has become a cherished method to begin the end-of-year celebrations,” said Eric Castellanos, in a notably cheerful message.

“It embodies the essence of Miami: happy, diverse, and based in heritage that foster togetherness. Every time, we are delighted to mark tradition and kindness in a way only Miami can.”

Participants enjoyed a plant-based fare of spinach fritters and Cuban coffee as they celebrated the swine's new lease on life.
