The Mighty Nein's Introductory Sequence Selected the Incorrect Popular RPG Show Track

The Mighty Nein, the newest animated adventure from Critical Role, unveiled an exciting opening credits. It features our favorite group of outcasts, outcasts, and rogues kicking ass and making their mark, while also hinting at several heart-wrenching backstories for key figures such as Liam O'Brien's wizard Caleb, and another actor's orc warlock, Fjord.

Overall, the opening appears stunning. However, I felt that something was missing in the song choice.

This sequence employs "Welcome to the Continent", an exceptional song composed by artist the talented musician. This piece originating from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second release put out by Critical Role Productions LLC's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a wonderful nostalgic option, and I believe that devotees of the sequel series will appreciate its inclusion.

But for me, The series' opening fails to capture the hype and excitement that accompanied the second campaign's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", written by musician the artist, became an immediate hit for me when it was initially unveiled in that year, and it only got better when cast member the performer wrote words to the melody for the animated Campaign 2 opening in 2018.

Including singing from Ashley Johnson, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the track was catchy and fun. Back then, I hadn't even watched the second campaign yet, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my phone. It's a song that knows how to get you pumped before you dive into an installment of fantasy hijinks.

The Mighty Nein's intro with "the new song" doesn't strike the same chords for me. It's a grand piece of music, but based on my understanding of the group, I feel that its mood is somewhat mismatched.

Naturally, the creators has already said that the series will have some surprises and variations from the actual-play campaign. A tonal change for its opening appears as among these.

The Mighty Nein will be released on Prime Video from November 19. If you can't wait before that, or want a head start to learn about the characters of the second series, the original episodes are available on Spotify and YouTube.
