Trent Alexander-Arnold's rehabilitation is progressing according to plan, giving hope that the Madrid right-back might recover soon enough to confront his former club Liverpool in the upcoming Champions League tie.

The 27-year-old player suffered a hamstring injury during a match against French side Marseille in the group stage of the competition on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold had to leave the pitch in the early stages, with initial indications suggesting a possible layoff of as long as six weeks.

Real Madrid are scheduled to visit Liverpool on November 4 for the European match—just over a month since the injury occurred.

Reports close to the situation indicate that the defender's comeback is moving along well, and there is optimism that Alexander-Arnold could achieve his first return to Anfield since joining Real Madrid in June.

A longtime Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold previously stated that leaving the team he joined as a young youth talent was the "toughest decision he's ever made."

During his spell with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold made over 350 games, contributing to claim two Premier League titles, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.

After joining to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has featured on five occasions across all competitions, accumulating 156 minutes of action.
