President Trump Calls Families of Shot National Guard Members to the Presidential Residence

Former President Trump announced on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the presidential home.

He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Tragic Shooting

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a violent incident on Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Memorials across the state have taken place in their memory.

White House Offer

The commander-in-chief explained he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the parents of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president addressed reporters. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”

Community Support

Mourners gathered over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been working with the state guard as part of Trump’s government program to aid policing efforts in DC.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that educators hoped for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, considerate and always ready to support those in need.”

Service plans for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Legal Actions and Government Adjustments

Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of homicide and charges of attempted murder while armed.

The incident caused the government to suspend refugee claims and cease providing entry permits to holders of Afghan passports.

Status of Wolfe

The airman, a resident of Martinsburg, started his military career in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor Morrisey stated on television.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi stated on the program that she aimed to visit the family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County High in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a law enforcement officer with honor, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had bravery,” the governor informed the audience at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
