Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities have announced that a former physician has been charged with committing assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.

The Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.

One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Investigation

These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

List of Charges

The charging documents outline the forty-five charges include:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
  • Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Police are urging individuals with information to contact the investigating team.
